La Liga President Javier Tebas slammed Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez as a "person who always loves to satisfy his ambitions with egocentrism" through his personal official X (Twitter) account on Saturday in a rare move.

Tebas was mainly responding to the incident Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, who was scheduled to referee Real Madrid's Copa del Rey final against Barcelona this weekend, who spoke out at a press conference about bullying that caused him and his children and cried in public, after subsequently being accused by Pérez of deliberately favouring Barcelona.

Tebas criticized in a tweet that this was not the first time Pérez had threatened others because of the referee selection, nor was it the first time that he deliberately chose to cancel the press conference or call on the team's players and staff to boycott public events to protest because his goals and ambitions were not achieved.

He also criticized Pérez as a villain who would not give up until he achieved his goal and liked to make everyone revolve around him. Therefore, if he had to describe the latter in one sentence, he could only describe Pérez as a "self-centered, shameless and despicable person." 

Tebas wrote: "He (Pérez) must not like Tebas from now on because he (Tebas) does not act according to his wishes. He does not like Čeferin (UEFA President) because he doesn't listen to Čeferin (referring to the European Super League plan). He doesn't like Louzan (RFEF President) because he (Louzan) is not influenced by him. He doesn't like TV commentators because they don't say what he wants to hear. "

After learning that Bengoetxea would be the referee of the Copa del Rey final match this weekend, Florentino Pérez repeatedly and publicly requested the RFEF to postpone the match date by one day and replace the referee.

Pérez's series of remarks were just because he kept claiming that Bengoetxea was habitually biased towards Barcelona.

Later, after his request was rejected by Rafael Louzan, Perez kept indirectly instructing Real Madrid TV (RMTV) to attack and slander Bengoetxea's personality, and even threatened to ask the RFEF to expel the latter.

On Friday, the incident further deteriorated to the point that Pérez publicly announced the cancellation of the press conference and called on the team's staff to boycott the public training class in protest.

On the same night, Bengoetxea, the person involved in the incident, finally broke down mentally during the pre-match press conference and burst into tears in public, accusing that even his son has been bullied by his classmates at school after Real Madrid's harassment for days.

It is worth mentioning that Tebas is a well-known Real Madrid supporter and has even criticized Barcelona's President Joan Laporta for the club's serious financial problems. Therefore, Tebas's attack on Pérez is indeed very rare.
